Jallianwala Bagh Massacre


The History of Indian Independence War is Full of Stories of Oppression of Britishers n Such a Story is about Jallianwala Bagh.

Today is the 100th anniversary of
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Which is a Black Mark on the Historical Map of our Country. It was on this Day, When the Colourful Festival (Baisakhi) turned into a Blood Bath. Each April 13 is Remembered as Jallianwala Bagh Day when Massacre of Thousands of Innocent Pilgrims by the British Army Officer Michael O'Dwyer at Jallianwala Bagh.

Jalianwala Bagh Massacre took place on April 13, 1919 (on Baisakhi day) in Jallianwala Bagh near Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar, Punjab. It was During India's Freedom Struggle .There was a Meeting for the Protest of the Arrest of Two Nationalist Leaders  Dr Saifuddin Kitchlew n Dr Satya Pal. Which was Attended by Men, Women n Children. At 3:30 PM General Dyer was Informed about a Meeting at the Jallianwala Bagh. An  Hour later, At around 4:30 pm, Brigadier General Reginald Dwyer Entered the Bagh with his Troops (65 Gurkha, 25 Baluchi n Pathan Soldier {Riflemen} ), Who were Loaded with 303 Lee-Enfield-Bolt-Action Rifles n Machine Guns. They Surrounded the Garden n Began Firing at the Crowd without Warning. People ran Helter-Skelter, But Had no way to Escape. Many Jumped into the Nearest Well to Save themselves. The Firing went on for 15 Minutes. In total 1,650 Rounds of Bullets had been Fired. They continued Firing  Until their Pocket of Bullets became Empty. It Resulted in the Death of so Many Innocent People. According to British Report on the Massacre Almost 379 People were Killed n 1200 People Wounded (Injured) But According to Indian National Congress. More than 1000 people were Martyred on that Day, 120 of them were Found in the Well n More than 1500 were Injured.The actual Number of Casualties remains Unknown till today.

After such a Betrayal, Stunned the entire Country. Whole of Punjab was Placed under Martial Law n Within a Week on April 18-1919, n The Country's Big Leaders had Strongly condemned General Dwyer. Later Rabindranath Tagore Renounced his British Knighthood n Gandhi Ji Returned his Kaiser-I-Hind Medal. After all this the Government Established a Committee (Hunter Committee) Headed by Lord Hunter. But The 7 Member of Hunter Committee, Became Unable to Implement any Disciplinary Action as the Actions of Michael O'Dwyer, But 21 years later Bastard Micheal 0'Dwyer was Killed at Caxton Hall London 31st July,1940 by Udam Singh, Who had Watched the Whole Event with his Own Eyes as an Orphan

The Jallianwalla Bagh site in Amritsar is now a National  Place (National Monument) of Pilgrimage. A Big salute to the Unsung Heores of India. Jai Hind. 🙏
